Franchise management in Point of Sale enables centralized oversight of corporate-owned and franchise stores while granting franchise operators controlled access to their specific locations.
Franchise management provides granular access control. Franchise users can access only data and settings relevant to their franchise group.
Use Cases
Use franchise management for:
- Retailers with franchise operations alongside corporate-owned stores.
- Organizations needing to separate corporate and franchise administrative duties.
- Businesses requiring franchise-level reporting and user management while maintaining corporate oversight.
Corporate Admin Capabilities
Corporate admins have full visibility and control across all stores (corporate and franchise). Capabilities include:
- Create and manage franchise groups (also called Store Groups).
- Assign franchise admins to specific franchise groups.
- Access all reports and settings across the entire organization.
- Define stores under specific franchise groups.
Franchise Admin Capabilities
Franchise admins manage users and settings for their assigned franchise group only. Capabilities include:
- Create and manage store associates for franchise locations.
- Access reports scoped to franchise stores only.
- Limited access to specific CMS modules (no access to Apps, Layouts, or Integrations).
Prerequisites
Before you enable franchise management, ensure that you:
- Have corporate admin access to the CMS.
- Configure the Merchant Location Region (MLR).
- Review your current store structure to identify which stores belong to which franchise groups.
