Set Up Datalogic Scanner in Point of Sale CMS
Configure the Datalogic Magellan 1500i in Point of Sale CMS. Then connect the scanner through a supported Epson printer's USB port.
Configure Scanner Settings
Add the Magellan 1500i as a peripheral in CMS.
- In CMS, go to Apps and edit an app configuration.
- Go to Modules | Peripherals | Supported Barcode Scanners and select Epson Accessory.
- Save the peripheral.
Configure Register Settings
Assign the Magellan 1500i to a register.
- In CMS, go to Store Management | Registers.
- Select a store and edit a register.
- Under Scanner, set Connection Type to USB.
- Save the register settings.
Connect Scanner to a Printer
Connect the Magellan 1500i to a supported Epson printer's USB port. The scanner has no USB port of its own for an iPad.
- Plug the scanner's USB connector into the Epson printer's USB port.
- Power-cycle the printer with the scanner connected.
The scanner beeps to indicate it's powered on.
- In the POS app, go to Device Manager | Printers and select the printer the scanner connects to.
Use auto-discovery to connect the printer instead of entering the IP address manually. Auto-discovery connects the printer over the secure channel that the scanner passthrough requires.
