Product Search Deep Link Search Parameters
Use the search and category parameters in the Point of Sale product search deep link to initiate a search for specific content.
Search Query
Specify what keywords to search for. If this field is left blank, then by default a star search will be performed. This means that the search query is an asterisk, i.e., *, and all available products will be shown.
Category Search
To search by category, select one or more categories from the category tree view.
- To select a category click the title.
- To expand or collapse a category, click on the arrow icon next to the category title.
- To remove a category after it has been selected, click on the red X icon. The end user sees a category search of "Accessories" and "Sale".

Category Search Behavior
The Category Search Exact server setting affects the behavior of category search. By default, category search returns only products whose categories are an exact match of the category search query. For example, a search for the category "New Arrivals" returns products in the "New Arrivals" category but not "New Arrivals > Dresses" or "New Arrivals > Pants".
However, if the server setting is set to false, a category search of "New Arrivals" will return products with partial category matches as well (that is, child categories). In the previous example, this would include the categories "New Arrivals", "New Arrivals > Dresses" and "New Arrivals > Pants".
Manually Enter Category (Advanced)
This feature should be used with caution. When a category is expected to become available in an upcoming feed, it is possible to point to that category ahead of time.
- Click "Manually Enter Category" to expand this section.
- Enter the category.
- Click the Save icon.
- To enter multiple categories, repeat the steps above.
Fallback Category
Users can remove category filters by tapping the X icon on the PLP screen. By default, once the user removes all of the selected categories a star search is performed (i.e., all available products). However, configuring a Fallback Category changes this behavior so that after removing all category filters search results are shown for the Fallback Category.
Click the Checkmark icon to the right of the category title to set the Fallback Category
Filters Categories
This field filters the category tree so that it is easy to find categories to select.
Search Title
On iOS, the title on the navbar is affected. When the "Search Title" is not specified, then by default the title on the search page is "SEARCH."
