Inventory Configuration

Manage inventory settings in Point of Sale to use PredictSpring (Point of Sale), SPI, or Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (SFOCI) as your inventory provider.

Historically, Point of Sale has managed all inventory for online and in-store orders. As part of the 8.10.1 build release, Point of Sale now offers the ability to rely on an external system for online inventory availability. This is available through an SPI endpoint as well as a native integration with Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (SFOCI). This article explains how to go to the configuration screen needed to change providers and any additional toggles associated with inventory checks. Retrieving store inventory information is also available with an API, it returns details for queried store and product ID(s).

1. In CMS, go to Inventory > Inventory Configuration.
2. Create or edit an existing configuration.
3. Complete the fields by referring to the table:

   Field	Description
   Provider	Select the provider for this inventory configuration: If PredictSpeing is selected, a Product Feed with online inventory fields is required. If SPI is selected, a https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_pos_inventory_live_inventory_check.htm&language=en_US needs to be configured. If SFOCI is selected, the SF OMS connector needs to be configured in your Configure the Salesforce (SF) Order Management System (OMS) in CMS.
   Track Online Inventory	If PredictSpring is selected as the Provider and this switch is enabled, it checks if inventory for online fulfillment products (that is, ship-to customer from an ecomm warehouse) is available before submitting an order. The ability to process an order is dependent on ‌availability. If this flag is disabled, an order can be submitted without checking for availability.
   Track Store Inventory	If this flag is enabled, it checks if inventory for in-store fulfillment products (that is, take with, pick-up later) is available before submitting an order. The ability to process an order is dependent on ‌availability. If this flag is disabled, an order can be submitted without checking for availability.
   Is PredictSpring Master of Records	If PredictSpring is selected as the provider and this switch is enabled, Point of Sale will be the source of truth for inventory.
   Enable Check Inventory	If SFOCI is selected as the Provider and this switch is enabled, SFOCI checks online inventory availability.
   Enable Reserve Inventory	If SFOCI is selected as the Provider and this switch is enabled, SFOCI reserves inventory if it's available if the order is placed.
   Enable Release Reservation	If SFOCI is selected as the Provider and this switch is enabled, SFOCI immediately releases a previously reserved online inventory if an order failure occurs (for example payment error, order declined). If disabled, the reservation automatically releases after four hours.    Location Group RefID	If SFOCI is selected as the Provider, enter the SFOCI location group to be used for checking online inventory. This is used to configure your fulfillment locations and segment inventory. This can also be configured at the Store Creation and via Store Feed. By default, the merchant-level is used, however, if store-level is also set, that is used as well.
