| How do I create multiple promotion rewards? | You can create two promotions that run concurrently that can be combined. An example is “Get 15% off and No-cost Shipping”. You can achieve this type of combined promotion by creating a 15% off promotion and selecting which promotion it can be combined with. Promotions that can be combined will have a * next to their type label in the Promotion List view screen. |
| How do I suspend a promotion? | You can suspend a promotion by switching the Active Switch off regardless of the start and end times of the promotion. |
| Will a promotion job in Point of Sale be able to consume multiple files in a single run? | Yes, a promotion job will be able to consume multiple files in a single run. |
| If there are no files, why can't the job be completed with a success message such as, "No files found"? | If the file isn't found, then the feed job is unsuccessful. The error is provided in the CMS under Feeds > Feed Logs. |
| Is there any region constraint in the promotion feed as we add more countries and regions (that is, Ireland, US, CA)? Can the single source file have promotion objects for all regions in the same file? | If the promotions are region specific, then you can't have a single file. If the promotions are common, a single file can be used by all the region-specific promotion feed jobs. |
| If the promotion job fails midway, will it fail all promotions in the file or just the bad promotions? | Only bad promotions will fail. |
| How many days-old feed logs do you retain? | Point of Sale retains logs for a maximum of one month. |
| Will there be any alerts/notifications sent to a distribution list to alert us of the job completion, failure, and success? | No, this is currently not supported. |
| In case of failure, do we process the file again? Will Point of Sale support reprocessing and fixing these failures in production? | Point of Sale will reprocess the file but only with failed entries. Otherwise, it will create duplicates for the records processed successfully on the first run. |
| Can we have different employee discount rates at different store locations by setting up employee discount promos with different locations as a condition? | Yes, you can have different employee discount rates at different stores by using the parent promotion feature and location-specific references. To achieve this, set up a parent promotion that encompasses the employee discount logic. Within this parent promotion, you can specify location (store ID) specific references. For example, you can configure the promotion to offer an employee discount of $20 at Store A and $40 at Store B. By using location-specific references within the parent promotion, you can tailor employee discount rates to match different store locations as needed. |
| Is there a way to export the product IDs that have been added to a promotion? | You can export product IDs from a promotion by performing an API GET request on the specific promotion you're interested in. In the JSON response, look for the section "productRules.value", which contains a list of product IDs (productIds) declared in the promotion. See sample JSON response for example. |
| Do price overrides exclude promotions or discounts? | If you apply a price override, often called a price correction, the item's price is updated to the newly entered value. However, any existing promotions or discounts will still apply to the corrected price. The price override doesn't exclude these promotions or discounts, but rather they'll be applied on top of the new price. |
