August Build Summary (11.3.1)

August Build Summary (11.3.1)

Build summary for Modern POS version 11.3.1, including what new features and changes it contains.

Core Platform

Get Your In-Store Operations Up and Running Quickly

What it does: Activate your POS app and set up new store registers in CMS with automated, remote registration. Previously, you had to enter the installation ID, store ID, and other mandatory fields to install and activate a register. For remote registration, CMS automatically generates a unique installation ID and displays a QR code you can scan or download to start the registration process. This streamlined registration reduces manual steps, minimizes input errors, and speeds up device setup while keeping store and register details accurate.

How to configure in CMS:

  • Go to Store Management|Registers and select a store ID from the drop down.
  • Click Create.
  • To enable remote registration and auto-populate the Installation ID (2), turn on Remote Installation Registration(1).
  • To activate the register for in-store associates, turn on Automatically Set Register to Active on Remote Activation.
  • Enter a register ID and click Save.

Simplify Merchant Region Setup and Management

What it does: Manage merchant–locale–regions (MLRs) from the Merchant Regions tab in CMS. Previously, creating or updating MLRs required manual setup or external processes. Now, you can add MLRs and configure the region, currency, language, and multilanguage settings. Save time, maintain accurate configurations, and manage your merchant region data more easily in one location.

How to configure in CMS: Go to Advanced | Merchant Config and switch to the Merchant Region Config (1) tab. Add new MLRs (2) by setting the region, currency, default language, and supported languages.

Inventory Management

Edit Cycle Count Batches to Avoid Recounts and Missed Sales Opportunities

What it does: Store associates can now edit cycle count batches to perform adjustments without reconciling a full cycle count. With this change, associates can fix scanning mistakes or bulk entry errors for individual items quickly and easily. Store managers and store associates (with manager permissions) can delete serialized products and edit the number of nonserialized products. Additionally, batches now show the total products and total quantity counted during an in-progress batch. These values update dynamically as products are scanned into the batch. On the cycle count report page, these values are shown only for closed batches.

How to configure in CMS:

  • Go to Store Management|Associates Management|Approval Policies Configuration.
  • Create an Approval Policy for the Cycle Count Batches Actions Policy Feature for store associates.
  • Select STORE_Manager as the Approving Role for the policy.

Maintain Store Compliance by Blocking Sales and Returns of Restricted Products

What it does: Create restriction rules to block the sale and return of specific products. If a restricted product is added to the cart, the product is flagged and can’t be sold or returned. You can apply the restrictions to all stores or selected stores. You can also restrict products in Buy Online, Fulfill In-Store (BOFIS) and Buy Online, Pickup In-Store (BOPIS) orders. The restriction rules help you maintain compliance with regulations like product recalls, protect brand standards, and prevent prohibited or outdated items from being shipped.

How to configure in CMS: Go to Store Management | Restriction Configurationand create a rule. Set the restriction type, restricted product rules, and restricted store rules.

Associates can validate fulfillment types on the return screen in both online and offline modes.

How to configure in CMS: Go to Store Settings | Store Fulfillment | Omni Settingsand turn on Enable Omni Fulfillment Options V2 and Group Same Fulfillment Type Items.
