Set Up Your Android or Windows Device for Point of Sale
Before you open Point of Sale on an Android or Windows device, complete the device setup and configuration steps.
Prerequisites:
- A supported Android or Windows device. See Supported Devices for Point of Sale on Android and Windows.
- Access to the Point of Sale app. See Access Point of Sale on Android and Windows.
- Complete the Android or Windows device setup.
- Install all required operating system updates.
- Connect the device to a supported network.

Set the device region and language.
Note Match the device region and language to the store's country and language. Some Zebra devices also require the language to match the selected region. For example, a device in a German store needs the region set to Germany and the language set to German. - Configure the device orientation to portrait or landscape mode.
- Confirm the date, time, and time zone.
- Connect any required peripherals.
- Install Point of Sale by using the distribution method for your organization.
