            Build a Segment with Attribute Shortcuts

            Speed up segment creation by using attribute shortcuts that store filter attributes with preconfigured data model paths. Instead of browsing the full attribute library, select from shortcuts that your team has set up.

            Required Editions

            Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
            Permission Sets Needed
            To use attribute shortcuts in a segment:

            Any one of these permission sets:

            • Data Cloud Architect
            • Data Cloud Activation Manager
            • Data Cloud Activation Specialist

            Before you begin, make sure that you've created attribute shortcuts for your organization.

            Attribute shortcuts give you quick access to commonly used filter attributes without requiring you to navigate the data model. Each shortcut has the segment-on object, path, and target attribute configured, so you only need to set the operator and values for your filter criteria. You can combine shortcuts with standard data model attributes in the same segment.

            1. In Data 360, click Segments.
            2. Open an existing segment and click Edit Rules, or create a new segment and go to the segment builder canvas.
            3. In the attribute library panel, click the Shortcuts tab.
              The tab shows all available attribute shortcuts.
            4. Find the shortcut you want to use. You can scroll through the list or search by name.
            5. Drag the shortcut from the panel onto the segment canvas.
              When you drag a shortcut, Data 360 checks whether it's compatible with the current container. Data 360 disables shortcuts that target attributes in a different container and prevents you from dropping them onto the canvas. It enables only shortcuts that match the current container's configuration.
            6. (Optional) To verify the shortcut's configuration, click View Configuration.
              The configuration window shows the segment-on object, object path, and attribute name.
            7. Configure the filter criteria for the shortcut.
              1. Select an operator, for example, equals, greater than, or contains.
              2. Enter or select the values for your filter.
            8. Click Done to confirm the filter.
            9. To add more shortcuts, repeat steps 4–8.
              You can also switch to the Data Model tab to add standard attributes alongside your shortcuts. You can combine shortcuts and data model attributes by using AND or OR logic and nest filters up to three levels within a container.
            10. Save your segment rules.
