Use an Activation Template When Creating an Activation

Use an Activation Template When Creating an Activation

Use an activation template when creating an activation to automatically fill in settings like contact points, source priority, filters, and enrichment data. You can then review and adjust these settings before saving your activation.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          User Permissions Needed
          To use an activation template:

Any one of these permission sets:

          • Data Cloud Architect
          • Data Cloud Activation Manager
          • Data Cloud Activation Specialist

Before you use a template during activation creation, at least one activation template must exist that matches the target platform and DMO for your activation.

When you create a new activation, select an existing activation template to use as a starting point. The template prefills the activation's configuration with the stored contact point selection, source priority, filters, and enrichment settings. You can then review, adjust, and save the activation. The template acts as a one-time blueprint. After you save the activation, changes to the template don't affect the activation.

          1. In Data 360, go to Activations and click New.
          2. Select Segment or data model object (DMO)and click Continue.
          3. In the New Activation dialog, complete these fields.
            • Data Space: Select the data space for this activation.
            • Segment or DMO: Select the entity to activate.
            • Activation Target: Select the destination platform.
            • Activation Membership: Select the entity to use as the basis for activation.
            • (Optional) Activation Template: Search for and select a template.
              Note
Note Only templates with the same DMO and activation platform appear in the list.
          4. Click Continue.
          5. Review the activation configuration prefilled from the template and adjust any settings as needed, including contact points, source priority, and enrichment attributes.
          6. Add a name and an optional description.
          7. Click Save.

The activation is created with the configuration from the selected template. After saving, the activation operates independently. Future changes to the template don't affect this activation.
