Recommended Actions Configuration

Action Launcher shows recommended actions based on semantic search or the meaning of search keywords. Recommended actions can also be based on context, deriving the appropriate purpose from record data, such as Case Subject and Description, or from customer conversation transcripts. To configure recommended actions, first set up the recommended actions admin settings. Next, you must create data streams to get actions and service processes from Salesforce objects, map these data streams to Data Model Objects (DMOs), and create search indexes for the DMOs.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Starter, Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions with the required add-ons
  • Enable Recommended Actions
To show recommended actions in Action Launcher, enable the actions for the deployment or the service catalog Action Launcher configuration.
  • Data Streams Configuration
Install Recommended Record Selectable Actions and Recommended Service Processes data kits to configure data streams. Think of these kits as pre-built recipes for moving data. The data streams take information about available actions and service processes from your existing Salesforce records. They then automatically map this information into a standardized, organized format, making it ready for use.
  • Search Index for Action Launcher Recommended Actions
Action Launcher uses a search index to efficiently retrieve recommended actions for a user's query. To retrieve recommended actions, you must create two search indexes, one for deployment Action Launcher configuration and one for service catalog Action Launcher configuration.
