          Set Up Outbound Payments

          Set Up Outbound Payments

Complete these high-level steps to configure outbound payments for your agency.

Before you begin, complete the steps in Outbound Payments Prerequisites.

          1. Create record-triggered flows that call the Generate Payment Instructions invocable action for claims, payment requests, and benefit disbursements.
          2. Configure an integration between Salesforce and your Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to send payment instructions and receive completed transaction details.

Your integration must handle two data flows:

            • Send payment instruction records from Salesforce to your ERP system for processing.
            • Return the ERP's external payment ID to Salesforce and store it in the payment instruction record's Instruction Identifier field.

One approach is to use a MuleSoft Anypoint Connector. Work with your integration team to determine the approach that best fits your agency's architecture.

          3. After your ERP completes a disbursement, manually create a Payment record and a Payment Instruction Payment record in Salesforce to reconcile the transaction against the original payment instruction.
