Government agencies authorize two categories of services from outside providers: benefit services delivered to a constituent, such as nursing support or nutrition assistance, and operational services delivered to the agency itself, such as court translation, expert testimony, background verification, or investigative consulting.
Agencies configure the services that they authorize, and the rates for each, in Product Catalog Management. When a provider delivers an authorized service, the provider records that delivery in the Service Provider Portal. Every recorded delivery of service starts out unclaimed—unclaimed deliveries collect on the Services Delivered tab, where a provider can review them before creating a claim. Linking a service delivery to its claim gives claim approvers a way to verify that the billed service matches what was authorized and delivered.
