Configure Basic Settings for the Automotive Cloud Data Kit
Before you use the Automotive Cloud data kit and the Automotive Cloud specific data model objects, complete the basic setup required to work in Data Cloud.

- Review and complete all steps mentioned in the Salesforce Data Cloud documentation.

Enable the features required to access the data kit and its components.

Go to Data Cloud Setup.
If you don’t see this option, refresh your page, or log out and log back in with your admin user credentials.

To enable Data Cloud, click Get Started.
The setup can take a few minutes.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Automotive, and then select Automotive Settings.
- Turn on Automotive.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Partner, and then select Partner Lead Management.
- Turn on Partner Lead Management.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Partner, and then select Partner Performance Management.

Turn on Partner Performance Management.
You must enable the features that provide access to the objects used for calculated insights and data streams. You can enable the other Automotive Cloud features as required.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Vehicle, and then select Vehicle and Asset Finance.
- Turn on Vehicle and Asset Finance.

Go to Data Cloud Setup.

Connect Data Cloud to your Salesforce CRM org.
- In Data Cloud, click Data Cloud Setup.
- In the Quick Find box, enter Salesforce CRM, and then click Salesforce CRM.
- Click New.
- To connect to the Salesforce org that has Data Cloud provisioned, click Connect.

After you connect your Salesforce org, review the connection details.
Your Salesforce org is now connected as a data source and data action target.

Verify the SSOT package version.
- In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Installed Packages, and then select Installed Packages.

Verify that the Salesforce Standard Data Model SSOT is version 1.122 or
later.
If the version is earlier than 1.122, contact your Salesforce account representative.

Enable object and field permissions.
- Log in to the Salesforce org that contains the objects and fields that you want to ingest into Data Cloud.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets.
- Find and select Data Cloud Salesforce Connector Integration.
- Click System Permissions.
- Click Edit.

Find and select Use Automotive Foundation, Use
Vehicle and Asset Finance Features, Use Manufacturing Partner
Lead Management, and Use Manufacturing Partner Performance
Management.
You must enable the system permissions that provide access to the objects used for calculated insights and data streams. You can enable the other Automotive Cloud system permissions as required.
- Save your changes.
- Click Permission Set Overview.
- Click Object Settings.
- Click on the name of the object for which you want to give access.
- Click Edit.
- In Object Permissions, enable Read and View All Records permissions.
- In Field Permissions, enable Read Access for each field.
- Save your changes.
