          Create a Stage Definition and Add Stage Transitions for Vehicle and Asset Lending

          Create a stage definition that defines the rules for transition from one stage to another for a vehicle lending application. A transition is any change to the value in the Stage field on an Application Form Product. A defined set of transitions prevents the applicants from updating the stage to invalid values.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.
          User Permissions Needed
          To create stage definitions: Stage Management Design User permission set

          Enable Stage Management in your org.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Stage Management, and then select Stage Definitions.
          2. Click New.
            1. Click New and click Next.
            2. Enter Automotive Lending Stage Management as the name of the stage definition.
            3. Select Application Form Product as the reference object.
            4. Select Stage as the reference object field.
            5. Enter a description.
            6. Save your changes.
          3. In the Stage Management console, select the Intake stage, and then select + Add Stage Transition.
          4. In Transition To, select Submitted.
          5. Click Add.
          6. Similarly, add the transitions for the stages listed in this table.

          7. In the Stage Management console, select the Intake stage, and then select Submitted.
          8. Click Add Stage Transition Rules.
          9. Select Add Step Definitions, and then click Add.
          10. Click Add.
          11. Enter a name and a developer name.
          12. Select Autolaunched Flow as the step type.
          13. Select a flow definition name.
            Make sure your admin has created and activated an autolaunched flow that uses the apex action apex-AutomotiveLendingCDSUtil. For details, see Create Digital Lending Stage Management Flow.
          14. In Run As User, select User.
          15. Click Add.
          16. Similarly, add a transition rule for the transitions listed in the table above.
          17. Save and publish the stage definition.
          18. Add a stage definition assignment.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Stage Management, and then select Stage Definition Assignments.
            2. Click New.
            3. Enter the name Automotive Lending Stage Management.
            4. Select Application Form Product as the reference object.
            5. Select Automotive Lending Stage Management as the stage definition.
            6. Save your changes.
            7. Open your record and click Activate.

          To boost productivity of users, create a path on the Application Form Product record that automatically transitions across different stages. For details, see Create a Path.
