Build an Automotive Insurance Product
Configure a sell-able Automotive insurance product within Product Catalog Management.
- Create a Product Classification named Automotive with the Automotive insurance attributes your business uses.
- Create the Automotive insurance products that inherit from the Automotive classification.

Add a Coverage product group with the coverages you
sell, such as Bodily Injury & Property Damage, Collision, Medical Payments, and
Comprehensive.
Add product-selling-model options to make the product available for sale. For example, One Time.
- Create configuration rules to enforce coverage requirements. For example, auto-add the comprehensive coverage when a 2020-or-older SUV is selected.
Build an Automotive Insurance Product
Sales users build an auto insurance quote against an existing customer Account and Asset.

Create a Quote linked to an Opportunity and
Account.
- Add the Automotive insurance bundle product created in the previous task as a quote line item.

Open the configurator and select the insured Asset.
The configurator pulls vehicle attributes from the Asset's related Vehicle record into the quote summary.
- Choose coverages and limits.
- Update prices, then save the quote.
- Progress it through the approval flow.

Click Issue Policy from the quote.
An Insurance Policy is created and one or more Insurance Policy Asset records linked to the insured Asset.
Considerations
- The Internal Reserve Mode field on Claim Coverage is required for insurance claims but isn't populated by Automotive Cloud claim flows.
- A renewed policy's effective-from date must be after the original policy's effective-to date.
- Make sure Asset records exist and are linked 1:1 to the corresponding Vehicle records. The insurance quote configurator depends on this relationship to populate vehicle attributes.
