Default Page Layout for Visit Planning

Default Page Layout for Visit Planning

The default Visit and Task page layouts for desktop users are designed to schedule and assign visits and tasks. On the Visit page, managers can find visit details, related information about visitors, visited parties, and generic tasks. The Action Plan tab shows the templates related to a visit. On the Task page, managers can view details about a visit task and also see related task-context relations.

          Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.

The default desktop Visit page layout has these predefined tabs:

          Details

Capture key details, such as visit priority, account, location, planned start and end time, assigned user, and special instructions to the assignees. Closely track the status of planned and ongoing visits and set the context for the visit. You can also relate a visit to a specific work type, such as general inspection or quarterly audit.

          Related

Relate a visit to a visitor, the field rep who performs the visit. Sometimes, sales managers relate tasks that’s not part of the related action plan to a specific visit. You can view such tasks on the Generic Visit Tasks related list of the Related tab. Sometimes, you want the rep to meet with a specific person during the visit, such as a sales relationship manager at a dealership. The Visited Parties related list shows this information. If you related files and attachments with a visit, you can view the file and attachments on the Files related list, such as promotion banners to verify during showroom visits.

          Action Plans

Relate an action plan template that has predefined tasks and metrics to a visit by using the Action Plans related list. Review the mandatory and optional tasks related to the template and add the action plan.

The default desktop Generic Visit Task page layout has these predefined tabs:

          Details

Capture key details, such as the related visit, reference task, description, and planned start and end times. Mark a task as a definition if you want to create multiple tasks of the same type.

          Related

View the relationships of a task and the task’s associated records, such as a sales agreement record, an asset warranty record, or a case record, on the Generic Visit Task Context Relations related list. You can also view files related to a task.
