Create Fault and Labor Codes for Products in Automotive Cloud
Define product fault codes to standardize the typical faults in a product. Define
product labor codes to standardize the type of labor services your company offers with their
estimated effort. You can specify product fault codes and product labor codes in warranty term
coverages to extend or restrict the product defects and labor services that are covered under a
warranty term.
Required Editions
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions
User Permissions Needed
To create product fault codes and product labor codes:
Warranty Lifecycle Management permission set
To create a product fault code, follow these steps:
From the App Launcher, find and select Product Fault Codes.
Click New.
For Fault Code, specify a code set.
To specify the product for the product fault code, enter a product.
To specify the product family for the product fault code, enter a product family.
Save your changes.
To create a product labor code, follow these steps:
From the App Launcher, find and select Product Labor Codes.
Click New.
For Labor Code, specify a code set.
To specify the product for the product labor code, enter a product.
To specify the product family for the product labor code, enter a product family.
To specify the estimated hours of labor effort, enter an estimated effort.
Save your changes.
Create code set relationships to link the fault codes to the labor codes.
