The app numbers most records the moment you create them. Orders and truck loads can instead defer numbering to a later point in their lifecycle.

  1. Open the target Document Template or Order Template.
  2. Set the Id Generation field to determine numbering behavior:
    • Number at Generation time: System numbers are evaluated and assigned the moment a record is created.
    • Number at Release time: A temporary reference ID is assigned at creation, and the final system number is assigned when the user releases the record.
  3. (Optional) To override the default system number definition for specific transaction types, map a definition to a combination of document template and transaction type.

When an order or truck load matches that combination, the app uses that definition instead of the template default. So you can number one transaction type differently from another even though both share the same template.

  4. (Optional) To maintain separate order and invoice sequence counters, select a dedicated invoice system number definition on the order template.

An order can carry more than one number, typically a separate order number and invoice number. Its own definition produces each number, and each number can use its own numbering behavior.

  5. Save your changes.
