Quote members are associated with their respective quote line items that are created from assets and are read-only. Duplicate quote members aren't created if multiple assets belong to the same account. If an asset added to the quote has linear relationships, then Quote Product Relationship records are created and the status of these records appears as Existing.
- Add Assets with Linear Relationships to Quote
Select a target asset and its linked assets for Move, Add, Change, and Delete (MACD) operations. - Add Products with Linear Relationships to Quote from the Summary Tab
If you omitted to add certain related products to a quote when you added assets from the asset viewer to the quote, then you can add these related products to the quote from the Summary tab later. - Add Assets from Enterprise Quote Interface
Add assets directly to Enterprise quotes from the quote interface. This method provides a streamlined workflow and prevents the addition of duplicate assets. - MACD Workflow Optimization
Prevent unnecessary status changes on asset line items during Move, Add, Change, Delete (MACD) processes in Enterprise Sales Management. - Asset to Quote Optimization for Large Datasets
Improve performance for Asset to Quote operations that involve complex product structures or large datasets in Enterprise Sales Management (ESM). This performance setting applies to both Industries CPQ and ESM.
Add Assets with Linear Relationships to Quote
Select a target asset and its linked assets for Move, Add, Change, and Delete (MACD) operations.
For example, you may want to add related (linked) assets to the quote and optionally perform MACD operations on them. Additionally, you sometimes want to add the assets that the current asset is considered as a related (linked) asset for and optionally perform MACD operations on them.
For a review of MACD operations, see Asset-Based Ordering.
- From an account, click the Asset subtab to access the asset viewer.
- From the Displaying menu, select Product Relationship.
- Select the assets that you want to add to the quote.
-
To select related (linked) assets also, in the Related Asset column for an asset, click the preview icon
.
The Select Linked Assets for MACD window shows all linear relationships that involve the current asset and other assets. -
Select one of these options under Relationship Category to view the assets that you can add to the quote:

- From the Displaying menu, select Product Relationship.
-

The Summary tab on the Enterprise quote shows the new assets.
MACD Workflow Optimization
Prevent unnecessary status changes on asset line items during Move, Add, Change, Delete (MACD) processes in Enterprise Sales Management.
You can configure the MACDLineItemActionStatus flag in Industries CPQ to preserve the Existing status when MACD rules update attribute properties without altering the actual values.
When MACD rules update attribute properties, such as read-only flags, the system distinguishes between data and metadata updates. Value modifications trigger a Change status, while property updates retain the Existing status. This distinction results in cleaner quotes, reduces processing overhead for enterprise orders, and helps downstream systems focus on impactful data adjustments.
Asset to Quote Optimization for Large Datasets
Improve performance for Asset to Quote operations that involve complex product structures or large datasets in Enterprise Sales Management (ESM). This performance setting applies to both Industries CPQ and ESM.
You can configure the IsAssetToQuoteForLargeDataSetSupported flag in Industries CPQ to enable optimized processing when converting assets to quotes at scale.
When this flag is set to True, the system applies an optimized processing path designed to handle high-volume asset structures efficiently. This approach reduces processing overhead, prevents timeouts during complex conversions, and ensures accurate quote generation even when large or deeply nested product configurations are involved.
