Apply Cart-Level Discounts in Enterprise Sales Management (Managed Package)

Use cart-level discounts when you need to apply pricing changes to the entire quote or account. Discounts here affect all products in the quote, not individual line items.

Required Editions

Managed Package Icon This feature is part of the Communications Cloud managed package.

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Enterprise Sales Management.

Standard user permissions that grant the ability to access the Enterprise Sales App and manage quotes are required.

Before you begin, ensure you've created an Enterprise Quote and added products to the Summary tab.

Order-level discounts apply through custom discounts you define. This task covers applying both standard and custom discounts.

  1. From the Summary tab, click Pricing Controls.
The Pricing Controls panel opens on the right side of the page.
  2. Ensure the Discounts tab is selected.
You'll see an information alert: "Discounts apply only at the Account or Order level."
  3. Click + Apply Discount.
    A discount configuration dialog appears.
  4. Choose the type of discount to apply:
    • To apply a pre-qualified discount as-is, select it from the Standard Discounts list.
    • To define your own terms, click + Create Custom Discount.
  5. If you're creating a custom discount, configure it:
    • Name – Type a name for the discount.
    • Allocation – Select Account or Order.
    • Adjustment Type – Select Percentage Discount (%) or Amount Discount ($).
    • Amount – Enter the discount or upcharge value.
    • One Time or Recurring – Choose whether the discount applies once or recurs. For a recurring discount, select a policy driven by an EPC rule.
    • Discount Application – Click All Items in the Cart to apply the discount to all eligible items, or click Selected Products and search by Category and Product Source (Catalog or Quote) to choose specific products.
      Note
Note Searching the catalog returns all active products, while searching a quote returns only products already added to that quote.
    • Duration (optional) – Specify an End Date or a number of Months. If you leave duration empty, the discount remains active indefinitely.
    • Reason / Note (optional) – Add context for approvers (for example, "Executive approval discount for enterprise customer").
  6. Quickly search for products within your quote or across the entire catalog to select entire product bundles in one go, including all related child products. Add or remove products as needed — each selected product appears as a tag you can remove to revoke the discount for that item.
    Note
Note When you select a parent product, you can select all or only some of its child products. Removing a product from the selected products list removes its associated custom discount.
  7. Click Apply (or Save & Apply).
The discount is applied to the quote. The Quote Total updates to reflect the new pricing.
  8. To view the applied discount, expand the Applied Discounts accordion in the Discounts tab.
You'll see the discount listed with its type, amount, and any notes you added.
