Set Up Data 360 for Communications Cloud
Before you use the Communications Cloud data model objects, complete the basic setup required to work in Data 360. You must set up Data 360, enable the required Communications Cloud features, connect Data 360 to your Salesforce CRM org, and configure the security permissions.

- Review and complete all these steps in the Salesforce Data 360 documentation:

Verify the SSOT package version.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Installed Packages, and then select Installed Packages.

Verify that the Salesforce Standard Data Model SSOT is version 1.46 or later.
If the version is earlier than 1.46, contact your Salesforce account representative.

Set up object and field permissions.
- Log in to the Salesforce org that contains the objects and fields that you want to ingest into Data 360.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets.
- Find and select Data 360 Salesforce Connector Integration.
- Click System Permissions.
- Click Edit.

Find and select the required Communications Cloud system permissions.
You must enable the system permissions that allow access on all objects used for calculated insights and data streams.
- Save your changes.
- Click Permission Set Overview.
- Click Object Settings.
- Click the name of the object for which you want to give access.
- Click Edit.
- In Object Permissions, enable Read and View All Records permissions.
- In Field Permissions, enable Read Access for each field.
- Save your changes.
- Complete these steps for all Communications Cloud objects and objects that are used in the predefined data streams and calculated insights.
Ingestion of External Communications Data Into Data 360
To ingest communications into Data 360, connect your external data source to Data 360. For example, you can bring in metadata from your network communications data providers to service usage and track service performance.
Various prebuilt connectors bring in external data into Data 360. The type of the connector depends on the data source. Review Data 360 documentation and complete the steps to set up and ingest data for transactions.
