Configure Translation for the Product Designer
If you want to use more languages than the base language, you can configure the Product Designer to display object and field labels in languages other than English. You must manage the Commercial and Technical catalog in a single base language, such as English, Spanish, French, etc. Switching to another language for catalog administration is not supported.
You can translate the names and descriptions of catalog data to multiple languages for rendering in CPQ operations or eCommerce applications. Translation is supported by the Multilingual Product Catalog Feature.
For reference, see Multi-language Support for Shared Catalog.
Use the following instructions to enable the translation of the Product Designer for languages other than English. For every deployment or upgrade, follow these post-install steps for translation and upload the translated JSON file.
- Translate Tabs and Labels
The process for enabling translation is to navigate to the Vlocity Product Designer (Vlocity Product console) and open the Vlocity Attribute tab/record page. Create it if it's not available. Then, get all objects from "Applicable Objects" and translate the value of each object. - Translate Product Designer App Strings
The tabs of the Vlocity Product Designer contain app strings. To get the Vlocity Product Designer app strings: - Translate Display Names of Sections and Section Elements in the Product2 Layout
Translate display names of sections and section elements in the Product2 Layout. - Set the Language and Verifying Translation
You can set any of the supported languages by setting the Catalog Administrator user profile locale to the base language selected for Catalog Administration. Verify that object names have changed to the selected language.
