Create an Asset-Based Quote in Industries CPQ

You can then update the assets of different accounts. Since the assets are grouped, you can perform different operations on the entire group in one flow. For example, you can modify the upload speed of multiple internet plans in an account.

          Note
Note Bulk Replace and Bulk Update feature have been certified in Standard Run time along with classic API's.
          1. Locate the account for which you want to update the assets.
          2. Click the Assets subtab.
          3. Select the assets that you want to update.
          4. Click Select an Action.
          5. Click Change to Quote.
          6. To create a quote:
            1. Click New Quote.
            2. For the Opportunity Type, select either New Opportunity or Add to Existing Opportunity.
            3. Select the price list that you want to use to price the assets. If the assets aren't defined on the price list, CPQ displays an error.
            4. Under Assets Action Type, ensure that Change Assets is selected.
            5. Under Assets Update Method, ensure that Bulk is selected. If you select One at a time, the assets are processed sequentially and the bulk processing feature isn't used.
          7. To add assets to an existing quote:
            1. Click Add to Existing Quote.
            2. Search for the quote to which you want to add assets.
            3. Under Assets Action Type, ensure that Change Assets is selected.
            4. Under Assets Update Method, ensure that Bulk is selected. If you select One at a time, the assets are processed sequentially and the bulk processing feature isn't used.
          8. Click Continue.
          9. Select the group of assets that you want to update and click Next.
          10. By default, No Change is selected for all line items. Depending on the bulk action that you want to perform, do one of the following:
            • To bulk add assets, click the Add button and then, under Action, select Bulk Add.

            • To bulk update assets, for the property that you want to update, click the radio button and enter the new value for the property.

            • To bulk delete assets, select Bulk Delete. You can delete the asset root bundle or optional child bundles.

          11. If an attribute value is required and there is no default value specified in the catalog, you can enter values for them while ensuring that they don't change by selecting the No Change Action.
          12. Click Next.
          13. Review the changes and click Start Bulk Updates Job. CPQ validates and prices the bulk changes and displays the cart.
          14. If there are other groups of assets to update, click Select Asset Group for Bulk Change.
          15. Repeat steps 10 to 15 for all remaining groups of assets.

To check the status of bulk processing operations, see View the Status of Asset-Based Orders.
