Set Up Additional CME Package Features

Set Up Additional CME Package Features

Explore additional features for the CME managed package including Billing Management, Forecasting, Multi-Language Support, and Apex Trigger administration.

          • Applying CME Page Layouts
For users to see improved page layouts and layouts for Salesforce Industries custom objects, you must assign CME page layouts to user profiles.
          • Asset-Based Ordering Administration
Standard ordering systems end the customer relationship after the order is complete. However, not all orders are about buying new products or services. An existing customer may want to modify the existing assets or services.
          • Billing Management
Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy does not include a billing engine, but Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy can access, report, and analyze billing data. The Vlocity Billing Management module aggregates billing data across multiple billers on a schedule. For example, you can call the information up when a call comes in or schedule a monthly data load. Reporting can store bills, bill line items, and Omnistudio Data Mapper data.
          • CME Forecasting Extensions
CME supports and extends both of Salesforce's forecasting types: Collaborative Forecast and Customizable Forecast. The extension comes from the Industries CPQ ability to capture opportunity/quote and order information including both recurring and non-recurring revenue. You can include both of these revenue streams in forecast variables.
          • Configuring CME Triggers
This section explains how to configure custom CME trigger settings.
          • Enable and Set Up Projects for Product Designer
The Project feature tracks any changes that administrators make to EPC artifacts in the Product Designer. To use Projects, you must enable and configure the feature, access, and record type.
          • Installing Cards, Templates, and OmniScripts
Salesforce recommends that you install all base cards, templates, and OmniScripts that are in your org. There’s no negative impact on your environment, and if you plan to use these other products in the future, you have access to them automatically.
          • Multi-language Support for Shared Catalog
When communications service providers sell products in different regions, it’s important that you translate significant product details into multiple languages. Translation helps sales agents find the things they need easily by making all the relevant details, such as properties, cross-sell, or upsell suggestions, available to them in their preferred language.
          • Picklist Value Activation
During a package upgrade, picklist values are not normally installed into your org for existing fields. As a result, you must manually add the following picklist values. However, if any picklist values for an object are installed through the CME package and those picklist values are inactive, you must activate them. Also, for several picklist values, you must remove them and either change the Lookup values to text or leave them blank.
          • Set Currency and Loyalty Codes
Learn how to set currency and loyalty code picklist values for Salesforce Industries CME package.
          • Set Up Scheduling
Use scheduling to view how recurring revenue for a given opportunity is spread across a certain number of contracted months.
          • Manage Default Record Types for System Administrator Record Type Assignments
Define the record types for users to ensure data consistency during record creation.
