Add Orchestration Items to the Plan

After you create an orchestration plan definition, you can add items to it.

In Order Management Plus, if you set Record Type of new record to Push Event, then specify the following:

• Error Queue: Specifies the manual queue to which to send this task if a failure occurs.

• Timeout: Prevents the orchestration item from waiting indefinitely if Order Management loses communication with the external system

1. Create the first task, which is Start Order:
   1. In the Orchestration Item Definitions section, click the New Orchestration Item Definition button.
   2. From the Record Type of new record pick list, select Milestone. A record type of milestone means that during the fulfillment process at runtime, once all the prerequisite items are complete, the item automatically executes.
   3. Click Continue.
   4. In the Orchestration Item Definition Name field, enter Start Order.
   5. In the Scope field, enter Swimlane.
   6. Click Save and New.
2. Create the second task, which is an item that requires manual input before it is triggered:
   1. From the Record Type of new record pick list, select Manual Task. A record type of manual task means that the task requires manual input before the workflow can progress.
   2. Click Continue.
   3. In the Information section, from the Record Type of new record picklist, select Manual Task. A record type of manual task means that the task requires manual.
   4. Click Continue.
   5. From the Record Type of new record pick list, select Manual Task. A record type of manual task means that the task requires manual input before the workflow can progress.
   6. Click Continue.
   7. In the Information section, enter the values in the following steps.
   8. In the Orchestration Item Definition Name field, enter Manual Check.
   9. In the Scope field, enter Swimlane.
   10. Select or clear the Skip Branch option. If you select it and specify the logic that triggers the skip using the condition editor, the task is never instantiated at runtime and the rest of the tasks in the associated branch are skipped until the next join. If you don't see the "Skip Branch" option on the editor, edit the layout and add it.
   11. In the Manual Queue field, enter Credit Validation.
   12. Click Save and New.
3. Create the third task – complete order
   1. From the Record Type of new record pick list, select Milestone.
   2. Click Continue.
   3. In the Information section, in Orchestration Item Definition Name, enter any name.
   4. In the Scope field, enter Swimlane.
