Adding New Fields to Object Types in the Shared Catalog
When new fields are added to the data model, as in the case of the new product selling period fields, they must be manually assigned to existing object types and the object type layouts must be updated as well. Once the object types have been updated, all of the products linked to that object type will automatically inherit and display the new fields.

This topic is only for customers upgrading from Summer '18 to Fall '18.
To add new fields to object types in your shared catalog, you will need to:
- Assign the new fields to the top object types in your hierarchyAdding New Fields to Object Types in the Shared Catalog.
- Add the new fields to each object type's layoutAdd the New Fields to Each Object Type's Layout.
