          OM Plus: Managing System Instances

As a Fulfillment Operator, you can manually place a fulfillment system in maintenance mode when the system is not functioning as expected, or when you need to perform maintenance on the fulfillment system.

When a fulfillment system is placed in maintenance mode Order Management queues all requests to this fulfillment system until you bring this system back online. No requests are lost. When a connection is manually reestablished, the backlog of requests is processed.

To accomplish this, Order Management Plus makes use of a System Instance. System Instance holds the system-specific connection settings, such as URLs, ports, and hosts, along with the status: UP or DOWN. This makes the system configuration more portable across environments, such as development, testing, SIT, UAT, pre-production, and production, while keeping the environment-dependent settings, such as hosts, ports, and credentials.

Since the System Instance is not part of the product catalog and has no Salesforce counterpart, you access it through the OM Plus Administration page, where you need to navigate to System Instances and find the relevant system instance. System Instance has a state value, which can be Up or Down.

If you want to reprocess all the existing orchestration items that were put on hold, use the System UP and Unhold Orchestration Items button. Batches of 10,000 orchestration items are processed at once.
