Order Management Process Flow
Industries Order Management offers comprehensive functionality across the two main parts of the order management process flow.
This functionality includes the following elements:
Order Decomposition
Order Orchestration
This image shows the entire process flow for Order Management:
An order goes through the following stages:
- Captured order input to OM: Commercial Orders are submitted into the system from Salesforce Industries CPQ, where they're enriched with technical details using rules defined in the shared catalog. Note
To ensure a valid structure, orders must be created using Salesforce Industries CPQ.
- Fulfillment requests: Next, Order Management's decomposition process creates a set of fulfillment requests containing technical specifications that represent the product and services to be fulfilled.
- Orchestration engine: The Orchestration engine then dynamically builds and executes a plan for the order. Plan execution takes into account task dependencies that were defined at design time.
- Downstream systems: As each task executes, connections to the various fulfillment systems are established and data is exchanged. Common examples include billing and inventory systems.
- Lifecycle management: The lifecycle of the order is managed until all workflow steps are complete.
- Completed order: A notification that the order is complete is then sent to the originating system.
