Order Management Standard: Set Up Platform Events
If you aren't already using Platform Events, and you want to, then you'll first configure the platform event settings, then schedule the Orchestration Recovery job. For certain versions of OM, there's one extra step, as explained in the following steps.
Platform Events is already set up by default for new installations (not upgrades) of the Spring '21 release or more recent. If that's you, then you don't need to follow these steps, unless you specifically changed away from Platform Events some time after installation.
Follow the steps in this order:
-
All versions of OM: Order Management Standard: Edit the OrchestrationMode Custom Setting
-
OM versions earlier than fall '19: Order Management Standard before Fall '19: Set Platform Events to Publish After Commit
-
All versions of OM: Schedule the Orchestration Recovery jobOrder Management Standard: Schedule the Orchestration Recovery Job.
- Order Management Standard: Edit the OrchestrationMode Custom Setting
To switch back and forth between Platform Events mode and Batch Apex mode, you'll edit the OrchestrationMode custom setting. You can change this setting back at any time to stop using platform events. You also must follow the steps in the What's Next section of this page. - Order Management Standard before Fall '19: Set Platform Events to Publish After Commit
To use platform events with an Order Management version before fall '19, verify that platform events is set to publish after commit. - Order Management Standard: Schedule the Orchestration Recovery Job
Once you've set the OrchestrationMode custom setting, the next step in setting up platform events is to schedule the Orchestration Recovery job from the Vlocity XOM Administration panel. You only have to do this one time.
