Running Vlocity EPC Jobs for an Upgrade
The Vlocity EPC jobs set up the Vlocity Product Console object classes, default layouts, pricing variables, pricing plans, and bindings.
The Vlocity EPC jobs are available from the Vlocity CMT Administration tab.
To run the Vlocity EPC jobs when upgrading from one version of Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy to another:
- Go to the Vlocity CMT Administration tab.
-
Click EPC Jobs.
You must run the jobs in the sequence in which they appear on the EPC Jobs page.
-
Because global pricing elements have been
deprecated in Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy Winter
‘18, you must delete the facet for Global Pricing Elements in the Price List
object layout.
To delete the facet for Global Pricing Elements:
-
In Vlocity Product Console, in the Metadata list, click Object.
-
Search for Price List.
-
Next to Price List Object, click Edit.
-
On the Price List Object page, click Layout Management.
-
Scroll to Global Pricing Elements and click Delete.
-
-
If you have made any customizations to the
default layouts, facets, or sections in Vlocity Product Console, completing this
step overwrites all customizations. If you choose to overwrite your
customizations, you must re-apply them in your org.
Next to Delete Default Object Layouts, click Start.
-
Next to Install Default Vlocity Objects and
Layouts job, click Install.
The Install Default Objects and Layouts job uses a DataPack to install default Vlocity objects and layouts. A DataPack import begins. Click Next to import all Object Class, Object Layout, UI Facet, and UI Section objects.
You can run this job at any time to import the newest data.
In Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy Summer '18, the Install Default Vlocity Objects and Layouts job includes changes to support attribute-based pricing.
-
Next to the Create Default Pricing Variables and
Bindings job, click Start.
If you created default pricing variables and bindings in previous versions, you must re-create them.
-
Next to Install Default Pricing Plan
Data, click Install.
This job installs the default data for pricing plans and steps. Click Next to import the Default Pricing Plan and pricing plan steps.
You only need to run the Install Default Pricing Plan Data job if you weren't using pricing plans in an earlier Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy release.
