Configure Relies On Scope
Assign the Relies On scope to a technical product, then in an order, create an Order Product Relationship between the commercial products that decompose to that technical product.
The Relies On scope allows you to have unrelated commercial products decompose to a single instance of a technical product.
- In the catalog, set the scope of the technical product to Relies On.
- In the catalog, configure two or more commercial products to decompose to the relevant technical product. That is, create a decomposition relationship between the commercial products and the technical product.
- If you're setting up attribute or field mapping between two commercial products and a technical product: In the catalog, set the scope of the commercial products to Relies On.
- In the order, configure the commercial products to have an Order Product Relationship with each other, using the Relationship Type of Relies On.
Note- If you're not mapping attribute or field values to the technical product: It doesn't matter which commercial product relies on which.
If you're mapping attribute or field values to the technical product: The product that relies on a product passes its own values to the technical product, as well as the values from the relied on product.
