Considerations for Calling Expression Sets

Before you call expression sets from Flows, Omnistudio, or third-party workflows, review these considerations.

Expression Set Component	Considerations When the Expression Set is Called
Input Variables	If the value of the input variable is specified as null, the null value is considered even if the variable has a default value. If you don’t want to specify a value for an input variable, exclude the variable from the input passed to the expression set. When you exclude a variable from the input, the default value of the variable that’s configured in the expression set builder is considered. Note If a default value isn’t configured for the variable, then these system default values are considered: For variables of type Number, Currency, or Percent: 0 For variable of type Boolean: False For variable of type Text: An empty string or “”
Field Aliases	If the expression set uses a field alias as a variable, pass the Id field of the source object, to which the field alias belongs, as an input to the calling workflow.
Decision Matrix	The active decision matrix version with the highest rank is considered.
Sub expression	The active sub expression with the highest rank is considered.
