Set Up MuleSoft for Integration

Set Up MuleSoft for Integration

To use MuleSoft as the middleware layer, turn on MuleSoft Integration and create named credentials.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions

User Permissions Needed
To turn on MuleSoft Integration: Customize Application
Note
Note If you use third-party middleware instead of MuleSoft, skip integration setup and provide named credentials manually in the integration definition after creating the named credential in Salesforce.
  1. In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Integrations Setup, and then select Integrations Setup.
  2. Accept the terms and conditions, and then turn on integrations for your cloud.
  3. Click Connect to MuleSoft Instance.
  4. Select a service, and then click Next.
  5. Enter your MuleSoft username and password, and then sign in.
  6. Grant access to your MuleSoft account.
  7. Wait for Salesforce to connect to MuleSoft.
  8. Find and enable the MuleSoft connector to use.
  9. In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Named Credential, and then select Named Credential.
  10. Verify that a named credential is added with the URL to the enabled MuleSoft connector.

As part of the MuleSoft deployment, the Integrations framework creates an endpoint for the deployment and creates automated policies to protect the endpoint. Named credentials are created in the Salesforce org. These credentials are used by Data Consumption Framework to make callouts to the MuleSoft endpoint.

Note
Note Alternatively, you can create a named credential manually. See Named Credentials as Callout Endpoints.
