            Context Definitions

            Context definitions ensure efficient data access at every step of the process. A context definition defines the relationship between the nodes and the attributes within each node. Your users can use nodes and attributes to easily access the relevant data from the mapped data source. Various Salesforce products offer predefined context definitions based on their use case.

            • View, Edit, and Delete Saved Context Definitions
              Extend or clone a standard definition, or clone a custom definition and modify it to meet your requirements. All your context definitions are listed on the Context Definitions page, under the Custom Definitions and Standard Definitions tabs. The Custom Definitions tab shows the definitions created by the customer, and the Standard Definitions tab shows the definitions available with the product.
            • Create a Context Definition
              Create a context definition by choosing nodes, defining their relationship, adding attributes, and applying context tags.
            • Activate a Context Definition
              To start using the context definition, you must first activate it. After it’s activated, your consuming application can execute various procedures using context definitions.
            • Extend a Context Definition
              Extend a standard definition from which you want to inherit all the standard components such as nodes, attributes, and mappings. Customize the extended definition by adding new components. Use the Sync Now option to instantly upgrade the standard components to their latest version.
            • Upgrade a Context Definition
              Extended context definitions are auto-upgraded to their latest version. When an extended definition is out of sync with the standard definition, use the Sync Now option to instantly upgrade the standard components to their latest version. Easily track the progress of the sync by checking the sync status.
            • Clone a Context Definition
              When you create a context definition, manually entering attributes and tags can be time-consuming, especially if your node has several attributes. To save time, clone an existing context definition and modify it based on your requirements. When cloning an extended context definition, you can also preserve the inheritance to the parent context definition.
