          Create a Context Filter

          Create a Context Filter

          Filter and sort your contextual data with Context Filters. You can define the filter conditions and sort order for the data in your context definitions.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Developer, Enterprise, Professional, and Unlimited editions for Industries clouds where Context Service is enabled
          User Permissions Needed
          To create context filters: Context Service Admin
          1. In Setup, find and select Context Definitions.
          2. On the Custom Definitions tab, select the context definition that you want to add a filter to.
          3. Click the Filters tab.
          4. To create a context filter, click New Filter.
          5. Enter the Filter Name, API Name, and Description.
          6. Under the Conditions section, select a Node, Attribute, Operator and enter a Value.

            For example, to filter all records that have the account name Alex, set these values:

            • Node: Account
            • Attribute: Name
            • Operator: =
            • Value: Alex

            For Date type attributes, you can also set a Date Range filter. For example, to filter all asset records that have a lifecycle end date in the upcoming week, set these values:

            • Node: Asset
            • Attribute: LifecycleEndDate
            • Operator: <=
            • Date Range: Upcoming Days
            • Days Count: 7
          7. To add a condition, click Add Condition.
          8. To add a sort order to your nodes and attributes, in the Sort Order section, select a Node, Attribute, Sort Order and enter a Limit value.
            You can add up to two sort orders for a context filter by clicking Add Sort Order.
          9. Save your changes.
