Create a Care Plan in Lightning Experience

Create a Care Plan in Lightning Experience

In Lightning Experience, you create a care plan in a single flow. You create the case record, apply any templates you want, and add your care team, all in the same place.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud

          User Permissions Needed
          To create cases: Health Standard
To view cases: Read on cases
To update cases: Edit on cases
          1. Go to the Patients tab and click a name.
          2. Go to the All Care Plans subtab and click New Care Plan.
          3. Select care plan type and click Next.
          4. Select the templates you want and click Next.
Or, if you don’t want any problems, goals, or tasks in your care plan yet, click Start a Blank Care Plan. You can still add templates, problems, goals, or tasks to your care plan later, the same way you would in Salesforce Classic. If your org doesn’t have any templates, or if you don’t have access to a template, the template selection screen is bypassed.
            Important
Important Don’t use a blank template to create a blank care plan. If you do, you’ll get a validation error on the next page.
          5. Select a Start Date, customize your templates, and click Next.
If some components or child components aren’t relevant to you, you can deselect them to remove them from your care plan. But, make sure you leave a few components in the care plan; you get a validation error if you remove all the components in your selected templates.
          6. Enter your case details and add people to your care team.
            Tip
Tip Every care team must have a care coordinator assigned to it. The patient is automatically added to your care plan, even though you can’t see them here.
          7. Review your care plan and click Save Care Plan.
