Create and Configure a Grouped Decision Matrix

Create and Configure a Grouped Decision Matrix

When you create a grouped decision matrix, the first grouped version is created by default. This version has the same name as the matrix, but is suffixed with V1. Edit the name to give the version a descriptive name, and add a group key or a sub group key value. When you configure the first version of a grouped decision matrix, you also specify the column headers for all versions. You can’t create other group versions before creating the column headers in the first version.

          5. Enter a name for the decision matrix.
          6. For Type, select Grouped.
          7. Enter a group key, and then, if necessary, a sub group key.
For example, to group by geographic region, you can set the group key to Country and the sub group key to State.
          8. Save the matrix.
The first grouped version of the matrix is created by default.
          9. On the record page of the decision matrix, on the Related tab, select the first version.
          10. In the version header, click Edit.
          11. To enter a description for the group, edit the version name.
For example, if the matrix is named Shipping Fees and the group key is State, you can name the version Shipping Fees CA.
          12. Add a start date time, and then, if necessary, an end date time for the version.
The default start date time is today.

          14. Enter a group key value.
If you specified a sub group key at the time of creating the matrix, enter a sub group key value. For example, if you set the group key to State while creating the grouped matrix, your group key value can be California.
            Tip
Tip You can’t add columns and rows before specifying the key values.
When you invoke a grouped matrix that has multiple simultaneously active versions, the group and sub group key values that you enter determine which version is considered.
          15. Save your changes.
          16. Enter data for the group:
            1. On the Matrix tab, click Add Column, and then specify the column header name, header type, and data type.
Don't include spaces in the column header.
            2. To add more columns, in the Add Column window, click Add Column, specify the details for additional columns, and then click Done.
            3. To add rows, click Add Row.
            4. To add row data, click a table cell, click Pencil icon. in the cell, and then enter the value.
To enter data by uploading a CSV file, click Upload CSV File.
            Note
Note If after uploading the CSV files you don't see the rows, refresh the browser.
          17. Save the matrix version.
          18. To activate the version, from the matrix version header, click Activate.
Expression sets and other processes can call only matrices that have at least one active version.
