          Create a Decision Table for the Document Matrix Element

          After you’ve defined the document decision rules in a document decision requirement record, create a decision table to determine the outcome.

          Required Editions

          View supported product editions.
          User Permissions Needed
          To create, edit, and activate a decision table: Rule Engine Designer
          To use decision tables in Business Rules Engine: Rule Engine Runtime

          Create a decision table and select the Document Decision Requirement object that contains the business rules as the source object. Select the input fields from the Document Decision Requirement object. Select one or more output fields that contain the values that are used to calculate outcomes.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Business Rules Engine.
          2. Click the app navigation menu, and then select Lookup Tables.
          3. Click New.
          4. Select Decision Table, and then click Next.
          5. Enter the name of the decision table.
            The API name is auto-populated from the decision table name you enter.
          6. For the Source Object, select Document Decision Requirement.
          7. Click Next.
          8. Select the fields to use as input fields and an operator for each field.
          9. Select DocumentReferenceObject as an output field.
            DocumentReferenceObject is a required field for the Document Matrix element.
          10. Select other output and input fields.
            You can select Context as an input field and HelpText as an output field, if necessary. The input field can be a required field or an optional field.
          11. For fields that you don’t want the decision table to consider, select Don’t Use.
          12. Click Next.
          13. Select the input field condition.
          14. Save your changes.
          15. Activate the decision table.
