Manage Document Template Versions for Omnistudio Document Generation

When you create a new version of a document template, the settings and Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint file from the previous version are copied to the new version. You can delete the file and upload a new file if necessary.

You can create a new version of an active template. If a template isn’t active, the Create New Version button doesn’t appear. If you activate the new template version, the previous version is deactivated.

To create a new document template version:

          1. Go to the Document Template tab.
          2. Expand the template for which to create a new version.
          3. Click the template name.
          4. Click Create New Version.
          5. Edit the template details.
          6. Click Save Template Details.
          7. Click Activate.

Activating the new template deactivates the previous template and changes the version.

          Update a Document Template

Templates are versioned and only one version can be active at a time. You can’t update an active template. To update an active template, you must either deactivate it or create a new version.

          To update a document template:

          1. Go to the Document Template tab.
          2. Expand the template to update.
          3. Click Edit.
          4. Click Deactivate Template.
          5. Edit the template details.
