Post Install and Upgrade Steps for Omnistudio Document Generation
Omnistudio Document Generation relies on the Omnistudio Foundation package. Install the package, then perform the post install or post upgrade tasks.
To install the Omnistudio package, see Omnistudio Installation and Upgrade.
After you install the Omnistudio package, you must complete post-install steps for Omnistudio Document Generation. For upgrades, you must complete the appropriate upgrade tasks.

The only upgrade task for Omnistudio Document Generation is installing new versions of the sample document generation Omniscripts. - Omnistudio Package and Salesforce Industries Package
You can now install both the Omnistudio package and Salesforce Industry package in the same org. If you install the Omnistudio package first, this dual installation feature lets you choose the required document generation capabilities. With enhanced document generation capabilities, you get seamless guided workflows to design templates and generate documents. - Why Can’t I Open the Document Template Designer After Completing the Omnistudio Document Generation Post Installation Steps?
You see an error message when you try to open the Document Template Designer because the Clickjack Protection settings are active for your org. Add your blocked domain URLs to the trusted domains list to open the Document Template Designer.
