          Slices

          Slices

Slice nodes help you retain fields that you require in subsequent nodes. You can use the multiple slice nodes to create subsets of fields from one source node. Each slice node lets you remove fields from any previously created nodes.

          Required Editions

          View supported editions.

After you select a source node, select the fields that you want to keep. The fields that you don't select are dropped from the dataset created by the slice node and the dropped fields aren't available to use in nodes that use the slice node as source.

          Slice node
          Example
Example An append type node named Location contains the City, State, and Country fields from the Contact object and the Account object. If you don't need the Country field in subsequent nodes, in the slice node, select City and State. The Country field is automatically dropped.
          Example
Example A formula type node uses fields from multiple objects to calculate the annual commission for sales reps. After the formula node, you can add a slice node to drop fields that were used in the formula but aren't required in subsequent nodes.
