Create a Dispatcher Profile and User

Create a dedicated dispatcher profile and user so that dispatchers can run the callout process. This task is required when you want a separate user to initiate and manage emergency callouts.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Energy & Utilities - Growth, Field Service for Energy & Utilities, and Contractors for Energy & Utilities
User Permissions Needed
To create a dispatcher profile and user: Manage Users
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Profiles, and select Profiles.
  2. Next to the Standard User profile, click Clone.
  3. Enter the profile name and click Save.
  4. On the new profile, click Edit.
  5. Enable Run Flows access.
  6. Save your changes.
  7. Create the dispatcher user by using the created profile.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Users, and select Users.
    2. Click New User.
    3. Enter the user details.
    4. Select the dispatcher profile that you created for the profile.
    5. Assign these permission sets to the dispatcher user. For instructions, see Manage Permission Set Assignments.

    6. Save your changes.
  8. Enable custom notifications for the dispatcher profile.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find Box, enter Profiles, and select Profiles.
    2. Open the dispatcher profile.
    3. Click Edit.
    4. Search for custom notifications and select Send Custom Notifications.
    5. Save your changes.
