          Set Up User Profiles for Self-Service Portal

          Set up the System Administrator and Customer profiles for the Self-Service Portal to define the data, objects, and features they can access.

          Create the Administrator Role

          Assign the administrator role to yourself to set up and customize the Self-Service Portal.

          User Permissions Needed
          To create user profiles and users: Energy & Utilities Objects for Experience Cloud Users
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Roles, and then select Roles.
          2. Click Set Up Roles.
          3. Under Your Organization's Role Hierarchy, click Add Role.
          4. Enter a name and label for the role.
            For example, enter Admin.
          5. Save your changes.
          6. In the Quick Find box, enter Users, and then select Users.
          7. Select your user name.
          8. Click Edit.
          9. In Role, select the role that you created.
            For example, select Admin.
          10. Save your changes.
          11. In your user page, in Permission Set Assignments, click Edit Assignments.
          12. Move these permission sets from the Available Permission Sets column to the Enabled Permission Sets column.

          Create a Sample Customer User

          Create an Experience Cloud profile that a sample customer user can use to log in to the Self-Service Portal.

          1. Create an Experience Cloud profile.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Profiles, and then select Profiles.
            2. For the Customer Community User, click Clone.
            3. Set a profile name and then save your changes.
              For example, set the profile name to Energy Utilities Customer User.
          2. Allow the Experience Cloud user to run flows.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Profiles, and then select Profiles.
            2. Click the profile that you created.
              For example, click Energy Utilities Customer User.
            3. Click Edit.
            4. Under General User Permissions, select Run Flows.
          3. Create an account and a contact.
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Accounts.
            2. Click New.
            3. Enter the details of a sample account, and save your changes.
            4. In the account that you created, click New Contact.
            5. Enter the details of a sample contact, select the account that you created, and save your changes.

          Sharing Settings for Self-Service Portal Objects

          Review the organization-wide default sharing settings to understand the minimum level of access for each object in Energy and Utilities Cloud. You can extend the default level of access to your users, both internal and external. You can also use permission sets, sharing rules, role hierarchies to fine-tune access beyond the default options.

These are suggestions only—your organization may have different security model requirements. Check with your system administrator or implementation partner for help and advice about sharing settings.
