            Remove Product Specification from the Reference Product Model

            Each product specification in the reference product catalog is derived from a defined object type and has pricing associated with it. To remove a product, you need to update the calculation matrices.

            Prepaid Electricity is a commodity product example to describe the workflow for removing a product from the reference product model.

            To remove a product specification, complete the following tasks. When you have finished, remember to Run Maintenance Jobs.

            Remove Product from the Catalog

            The catalog includes all the product specifications that are offered to the customer. The Customer Acquisition Management application pulls the products from the catalog and displays it to the customer based on customer input.

            When you don't want a product to be available to the customer, delete it from the catalog.

            To delete Prepaid Electricity product specification from the catalog:

            1. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click Catalogs.
            2. Select All from List Views.
            3. Click Consumer Electricity Catalog.
            4. Click View All Records under Catalog Product Relationships.
            5. Click the Action menu next to Prepaid Electricity, and select Delete.

            Update Calculation Matrices

            The reference product model uses product attribute Distribution Region to determine the price for a product. To remove a product, you must also remove the corresponding pricing entries in the calculation matrices.

            1. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click Vlocity Product Designer.
            2. Click VEEDCSalesPricingMatrix.
            3. From the address bar, copy the record id for the VEEDCSalesPricingMatrix calculation matrix. For example, if the address bar has a URL https://baseurl/lightning/r/vlocity_cmt__CalculationMatrix__c/a0h4x000006xQbLAAU/view, the record id is a0h4x000006xQbLAAU.
            4. Click View Profile, and select Switch to Salesforce Classic.
            5. In the address bar, copy the record id to create a URL in the following format - https://<baseurl>/<record-id>. For example, https://example.my.salesforce.com/a0h4x000006xQbLAAU

              The VEESCSalesPricingMatrix record is displayed.

            6. Scroll down to the Vlocity Calculation Matrix Versions section, and click the latest version of VEEDCSalesPricingMatrixV<latest-version>.
            7. Click Create New Version.
            8. In the Table section, under Input Data, delete all the rows for the following Prepaid Electricity child product codes:

              • CC_STANDING_CHARGES_PREPAID

              • CC_UNIT_RATE_PREPAID

            9. Click Save Data.
            10. Click Edit under Vlocity Calculation Matrix Version Detail section.
            11. Update the Priority with the same value as the Version.
            12. Select Enabled.
            13. Click Save.
            14. Click Switch to Lightning Experience.

            Expire the Product in the Reference Product Model

            If a product in the reference product model does not suit your needs, you can either delete that product or expire it. You expire a product when you may want the product to be offered to your customer at a later time. You delete a product when you are sure that the product will not be used in the future.

            1. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click Vlocity Product Designer.
            2. In the Quick Find box, search Prepaid Electricity.

              Click Prepaid Electricity to open the product page.

            3. On the product page, enter today's date for End of Life Date.
            4. Repeat the above steps for Unit Rate-Prepaid and Standing Charges-Prepaid.
            5. To finish, Run Maintenance Jobs for Customer Acquisition Manager.

            Delete the Product Structure

            After the product is removed from the Catalog, and the corresponding pricing details are deleted from the calculation matrix, the product is no longer available to the customer. Prior to deleting a product specification from the EPC, ensure that the product is not required in future offerings.

            Before you delete a product, delete any parent-child relationships associated with the product.

            1. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click Vlocity Product Designer.
            2. In the Quick Find box, search Prepaid Electricity.
            3. Click the Structure tab.
            4. Click the Delete icon next to Unit Rate and Standing Rate.

            Product relationships for Prepaid Electricity are deleted.

            Delete Individual Products

            Before you delete a product, make sure that the product is no longer required in future offerings.

            1. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click Vlocity Product Designer.
            2. In the Quick Find box, search Prepaid Electricity.

              Click Prepaid Electricity to open the product page.

            3. On the product page, click Delete.
            4. Repeat the above steps for Unit Rate-Prepaid, and Standing Charges-Prepaid.
            5. To finish, Run Maintenance Jobs.

            Prepaid Electricity, Unit Rate-Prepaid, and Standing Charges-Prepaid products are deleted from the EPC.
