Understand the Reference Product Model in Customer Acquisition Management for Energy & Utilities
- Understand the Reference UI for Energy & Utilities
To add your products and pricing to the reference product model:
- Plan Your Energy & Utilities Products
In an Energy & Utilities company, products typically consist of commodity and non-commodity items. Commodity items include services such as electricity, gas, or dual fuels which have associated standing charges and unit rates based on consumption. Non-commodity products are either physical devices, such as solar panels, which have a one-time charge associated with them, or services such as maintenance contracts that have a recurring charge associated with them. - Add Product Specification to the Reference Product Model
Products are also called a product specifications in Salesforce. A specification can be a single product or a product bundle with multiple child products. All these products are derived from the object types, and therefore inherit all the fields, attributes, and layout structures from the parent object. - Remove Product Specification from the Reference Product Model
Each product specification in the reference product catalog is derived from a defined object type and has pricing associated with it. To remove a product, you need to update the calculation matrices. - Modify Existing Product in Reference Product Model
The reference product model is designed with products that are commonly found in the Energy & Utilities market. If any of the existing products in the reference product model closely matches the products that you want to offer to the customer, you can easily modify the existing products to suit your requirements. - Run Maintenance Jobs for Customer Acquisition Manager
When a new product is added or an existing product is modified, run the maintenance jobs to refresh the product hierarchy in the cache.
