Interest Tags

Add custom Interest Tags to records to capture customer, client, or constituent needs, interests, and prospecting opportunities. Having interests in mind during interactions helps deepen relationships. Organize interest tags into tag categories, which group similar interest tags so that you can easily create reports and dashboards showing common themes and interests across groups of people.

Note The Interest Tags object is a virtual object on the Topic object. Access to Interest Tags requires access to Topics for objects. Before setting up Interest Tags, turn on Topics for objects and configure user permissions for Topics. These permissions also control Interest Tag permissions. Then, select the objects you want to show the Interest Tag component.

Create an Interest Tags Dictionary
Before you create any interest tags or tag categories, work with your team to create a shared dictionary so that everyone has a well-organized, comprehensive set of interest tags to use. Brainstorm a list of interest tags, organize them into tag categories, and then create a hierarchy of up to three levels of tag categories.

Create up to three levels of tag categories in a hierarchy to organize tag categories and interest tags.
Create Interest Tags
Create interest tags and relate them to tag categories. Each interest tag can be assigned to up to three tag categories.
Add the Interest Tags Component to Record Pages
Add the Interest Tags component to Lightning record pages so that your users can search for and assign interest tags to client records.
Assign Interest Tags to Records
On client record pages where you've added the Interest Tags component, such as Person Account, your users can assign interest tags to track a client's interests and attributes.
Browse for Interest Tags and Tag Categories
Search for interest tags and tag categories in the Browse for Interest Tags window. Select multiple tags and add them to your record at the same time.
Assign Interest Tags to Tag Categories
Organize interest tags using tag categories. You can assign each interest tag to up to three tag categories.
Build an Interest Tags Report
Build a report to show Interest Tags assigned to records, grouped by Tag Categories.
