Recruit a Registered or Nominated Provider to a Payer Network

Recruit a Registered or Nominated Provider to a Payer Network

When a provider registers with the network or nominates a peer through the portal, Salesforce creates a lead record. As a recruiting specialist at the payer’s office, use the lead record to initiate a conversation with the provider, validate their information, and complete the recruitment process.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud

          User Permissions Needed
To recruit registered providers: Health Cloud Provider Network Management permission set

This provider recruiting business process helps you to find the best provider candidates and get them through the application process quickly. Validate and update provider information such as demographic details, professional information, and service location. You can verify the provider information over a call either with the provider directly or with someone who can speak for them. You can also reschedule the call to a later date and time.

          1. Go to the Lead record created for the registered or nominated provider.
          2. Click Recruitment.
          3. After confirming that the caller is either the provider or someone who can speak for them, select Yes and click Next.

If the caller isn’t the applicant and isn’t willing to speak for the applicant, select No for all the questions, and enter the caller's details and the date and time of when to call back. Salesforce creates a task record and associates it with the caller and provider lead for tracking purposes.

          4. Confirm the applicant's personal information and make updates, if necessary.
          5. Select a specialty role.
          6. Select a payer network, and click Next.
          7. Enter the provider’s Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) ID and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
            Note
Note Health Cloud has built-in integration with the NPI registry but not with CAQH. Reach out to your Salesforce admin if you need CAQH integration.
          8. Confirm the applicant's professional details. Make updates, if necessary, and click Next.
          9. Confirm the applicant's primary service location and click Next.
          10. Attest the applicant's details and give your confirmation.
          11. Click Submit.

And you're done! You see a confirmation indicating the completion of recruitment.

Salesforce converts the lead to a person account. It also creates Healthcare Provider, Healthcare Provider Npi, Healthcare Provider Specialty, and Individual Application records. Then, Salesforce sends the provider portal credentials to the provider through email.

The provider receives an email with the credentials to log into the provider portal, and they can reset their password. The provider has now started on their journey in the payer’s network. Next, the provider goes through a credentialing process.
