Connect Appointment Reasons to Engagement Channel Types
Create engagement channels, such as in-person, video, and phone, that service resources
can add to their shifts and work types. For self-service video appointment scheduling it’s
necessary to create Engagement Channel Type records in addition to adding video to the Service
Appointment default appointment.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud and the
Customer Community or Customer Community Plus user license
User Permissions Needed
To administer Video Calls:
Health Cloud Video Calls permission set
To schedule appointments:
Health Cloud Appointment Management permission set
Create a Video Engagement Channel Type
From the App Launcher, click Engagement Channel Types
Click New.
Enter Video for Name.
Choose Video for Contact Point Type.
Select Is Active.
Choose Video as Usage Type.
Choose Video as Contact Point.
Save your work.
Create Appointment Reason Engagement Channel Type junction record.
From the App Launcher, click Appointment Reason Engagement Channel
Type
Click New.
Enter Video for Name.
Select an Appointment Reason for which you would like to offer a Video Visit.
Select Video as the Engagement Channel Type.
Select the Default Work Type associated with this appointment.
It’s optional, but you can select a Work Type to use for Established Patients.
