Create a Product Model Based on a Product Class
You can use a product class to create products faster and more easily. Product classes already contain specific coverages, insured items, insured parties, rating facts, root product attributes, and rules. After you set up product classes, you can use them as templates for root product specs.
To learn how to create a product class, see Working with Product Classes.

Make Changes to Inherited Parts of the Root Product Spec
After you create a product class-based root product spec, you can make some changes to the parts that are inherited from the product class. But some inherited things can't be changed on the root product spec.
-
Associate a Product Class to an Existing Root Product Spec
When you associate a product class to an existing root product spec, the root product spec inherits all the coverages, insured items, insured parties, attributes, and rules from the parent class you select. These items add to whatever items are already present in the root product spec. They do not replace similar or identical items.
-
Disassociate a Product Class from a Root Product Spec
When you disassociate a product class from a root product spec, the inherited items from the product class are automatically removed from the root product spec.
