            Launch Behavior of Actions

            The launch behavior of actions depends on the action that you launch from Action Launcher.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Starter, Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions with the required add-ons

            How Actions Open

            Screen flow and flow orchestration
            The action opens in a subtab for a console app or in a window for a standard navigation app. If you relaunch the action while it’s open in a subtab, then you’re taken to the subtab without any loss to the information entered earlier.
            Autolaunched flow and flow orchestration
            The action runs in the background when the user confirms the start of an automated flow or flow orchestration.
            OmniScript, button- and link-based action or WebLink, and Aura component
            The action opens in a subtab. If you relaunch the action while it’s open in a subtab, then you’re taken to the subtab without any loss to the information entered earlier.
            Quick action
            The action opens in a window.

            How Apps Close

            Console app
            When you complete a step, the subtab closes. If other subtabs are open, you go to the next subtab. If other subtabs aren’t open, you return to the workspace tab that has the component.
            Standard navigation app
            When you complete an action, the window closes.
